The Lady Dunmore Sampler
Stitched on 28-count linen using both cotton and silks and dotted with Magnifica beads and Japan Thread, Sandie Vanosdall’s The Lady Dunmore Sampler and companion ornament combine traditional style with contemporary appeal. The sampler is a lavish vertical band sampler filled with specialty stitches, beads, and sparkling crystal Paillettes, while the companion ornament (class stitching piece) features four-sided hand-finishing and is adorned with floral motifs and many of the same specialty stitches used in the sampler.
Specialty stitches include diamond eye, modified-square eyelet, Amadeus stitch, diagonal oblique herringbone, oblique herringbone, four-trip North Star stitch, four-trip half diamond eye, modified Scotch stitch, elongated Rhodes heart, and some beautiful white work.
